L'Australia si appresta ad unirsi ai numerosi paesi che hanno regolato il diritto alla disconnessione, introducendo una normativa che si applicherà dal 26 agosto 2024 per la maggior parte dei dipendenti (o dal 26 agosto 2025 per chi lavora in piccole imprese). L'articolo introduce il nuovo diritto alla disconnessione nel più ampio contesto del sistema australiano di diritto del lavoro. Si ripercorre il rapido sviluppo legislativo di tale diritto e se ne offre un'interpretazione in relazione alla legge chiave del diritto del lavoro australiano, il Fair Work Act 2009. Vengono inoltre esaminate le ragioni per cui il diritto è entrato a far parte del diritto del lavoro australiano.
