La piattaformizzazione dell’aborto negli Stati Uniti: una prospettiva critica

L’articolo approfondisce il tema dell’aborto digitale negli Stati Uniti, concentrandosi su come la possibilità di ottenere un aborto attraverso il mifepristone sia transitata nel cyberspazio e su come il diritto possa sostenere, rafforzare, sfidare o essere messo in discussione dalle dinamiche di genere. Con questi obiettivi, in primo luogo, il contributo traccia l’evoluzione storica e giuridica che ha guidato la piattaformizzazione dell’aborto – in altre parole, la digitalizzazione dei servizi di aborto attraverso le piattaforme digitali – evidenziando come questa evoluzione abbia portato alla strutturazione di un ecosistema dell’aborto digitale. In un secondo momento, vengono sottolineate le sfide affrontate da questo ecosistema digitale durante l’era Roe – quando l’aborto era ancora un diritto costituzionalmente garantito. Infine, il contributo analizza le conseguenze per questo ecosistema – per utenti e lavoratori – della sentenza della Corte Suprema Dobbs v. Jackson, la quale ha ribaltato Roe v. Wade riconsegnando la regolamentazione dell’aborto agli Stati.
